Xbox Game Studios Game Camp Africa, which debuted virtually throughout the continent in 2023, included approximately 600 in-person campers in Cairo, Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi. The event’s second year in Africa has been confirmed. The 2024 edition aims to recognize and celebrate all game creators across over 50 African countries and regions.

Game Camp unifies various Xbox initiatives to celebrate talent and empower game developers to pursue their dreams. In 2023, panelists and presenters from Bethesda, Rare, XGS Publishing, GitHub, and external African-based companies provided 14 presentations to in-person and virtual attendees.

For this year’s event, an in-person viewing session will be held in Casablanca, Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Virtually across the continent. Space is limited for in-person locations and will be determined in order of registration.

Eligible participants must be of legal age, reside in an African country, and work or study part-time or full-time in software development, visual arts, 3D, music and audio, web design, narrative design, or professional project management.
